1 killed, 18 injured in brawl at university
Maan, April 29 (Petra)--One person was killed and 18 were injured at Al Hussein Bin Talal University in the city of Maan, 220 kilometers south of Amman, during a fight between two groups of students.
The Public Security Department (PSD) said a brawl broke out between students in which they exchanged gunfire, resulting in the wounding of two students.
One of the injured students died from his wounds, while the other student was reported to be in critical condition.
XxFollowing the violence, President of the university Taha Abbadi suspended studies at the university until Sunday.
Later, the PSD said that Civil Defence crews provided first aid to 18 people who were injured during the incident, adding that the injured were evacuated to Queen Rania Hopspital in Wadi Musa and the Maan Government Hospital.
