Gov't cancels decision to switch to wintertime
Amman, Oct. 24 (Petra) -- The government on Wednesday canceled a decision to switch to wintertime, keeping the daylight saving time (GMT+3) instead of switching clocks 60 minutes back for wintertime on Friday October 26, 2012.

The government instructed all directors and heads of institutions and departments which have special conditions such as the education and higher education ministries to set work hours as appropriate to their work. Meanwhile, Royal Jordanian RJ called on its passengers who hold RJ tickets for travel between Oct. 26, 2012 and March 30, 2013, to add one hour to the departure time mentioned on their tickets for travel from the Jordanian airports or the arrival time to the Jordanian airports, according to Jordan local time.

The company's call came after the Cabinet decided today to rescind switching to wintertime, which was scheduled to take effect on Friday.

Royal Jordanian stressed in a press statement that its instructions are meant to save passengers' time and not disrupt RJ's international flight schedule. The airline said that there will be no change in arrival times to the final destinations or to the departure time from the destinations outside of Jordan on any of the Royal Jordanian routes.

The company also pointed out that the tickets issued after 5 pm on Thursday Oct. 25, 2012 (3 pm Greenwich Mean time) will not be affected, whereby passengers must adhere to the flight timing mentioned on their tickets.

RJ called upon its passengers who wish to have more information to visit the RJ website at, or to contact the RJ sales offices or the RJ Call Center at +962 (6) 5100000.
