Lower House issues statement on US intention to move embassy to Jerusalem

Amman, Dec. 6 (Petra)--The Lower House of Parliament on Wednesday issued a statement in which it voiced anger over the intention of US President Donald Trump to move the US embassy in Israel to occupied Jerusalem.

The House said if the decision is taken it would constitute a blow to the inalienable rights of Arabs and Palestinians in the holy city.

It also warned of the dangerous repercussions of the decision on the region and maybe the whole world due to the importance of Jerusalem for billions of Muslims and Christians.

The House affirmed support to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Custodian of the holy sites in Jerusalem, pointing to the warning of His Majesty that such a decision will have dangerous repercussions on the security and stability in the Middle East, and will undermine efforts of the US administration to resume the peace process.
