Relatively cold weather expected over weekend

Amman, Jan.11(Petra) – A slight rise in temperatures is forecast on Thursday, but it will remain relatively cold in the hilly areas and the Badia regions, while it will be pleasant in the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, according to the Jordan Meteorological Department(JMD) daily brief.
High clouds are also expected with southeasterly light to southwesterly moderate winds.
Daytime temperatures forecast for today in the capital and the northern areas will reach 16 degrees Celsius dropping down to 9 and 12 respectively. Highs in the Gulf of Aqaba will register 24 degrees with overnight lows reaching 14, the JMD said.
A drop in temperatures is expected on Friday, but similar weather conditions will continue to prevail until Saturday with low clouds and westerly to southwesterly moderate winds changing to northeasterly light, the department added.
