Cloudy weather with showers forecast Wednesday

Amman, June 13 (Petra) -- Partly cloudy to cloudy weather is expected on Wednesday with a chance for isolated showers in many parts of the Kingdom, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said at its daily brief.

Heavy rain accompanied with thunder at times is also forecast, while winds will be westerly moderate to brisk, blowing dust in the Badia regions, the JMD added.

Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman, the northern and southern cities will hover around 26 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 17, 15 and 18 respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 38 degrees and lows standing at 26, the JMD further said.

Temperatures will slightly rise on Thursday, creating moderate conditions in the hilly areas and the eastern plains, while it will be relatively hot in the Badia regions, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba, with low clouds and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds, the JMD added.

Similar moderate conditions will continue to prevail on Friday in the mountainous areas and plains, while it will be hot in the Jordan Valley and Aqaba with westerly moderate winds, the department noted.
