New York, Dec. 7 (Petra) -- Deputy Spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, Farhan Haq, has said that U.S. President Donald Trump did not contact UN chief Antonio Guterres on his decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.

Haq told Jordan News Agency (Petra) that there have been no contacts between President Trump and Guterres, noting that the Secretary-General stated that Jerusalem is a final status issue which can't be dealt with through unilateral measures.

Guterres, he said, will not brief the UN security council about the issue, which is set to hold an emergency meeting Friday on Trump's decision and its repercussions. Special UN Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Nikolay Mladenov, will present an update on the issues, Haq said.
